Couple’s name Brooks & Tara Tapp Wedding date June 27, 2009 Occupations Brooks-PE Teacher/Coach, Tara-Spanish Teacher How he proposed On a trip to Las Vegas, Tara returned from the bathroom of the Casino Royale to find Brooks talking to security guards, dealers, and waitresses; he was looking fervently for something. He finally confessed to Tara that he was looking for her engagement ring, which he had lost. Thankfully, someone had turned the ring in to the security desk, so Brooks was able to propose properly in front of the Bellagio Hotel, where Tara happily accepted. Funny moment During the wedding ceremony, the priest read a poem that Brooks (an Oklahoma Sooner fan) had written for Tara (a Husker fan), which included the line “You are the Boomer to my Sooner”. Best idea Setting up a nacho bar towards the end of the reception for all the guests to enjoy a late night snack. It was a huge hit. First dance song “Stay With You” by John Legend Creative detail “We served a fun ‘signature cocktail’ to guests as a complimentary drink. It was called ‘Tapp Water’ and was made up of Malibu, Midori, and pineapple juice.”
