Last week I shared how we planned to use a customized wedding website as a means of communicating with our guests. This week, I'm continuing to share how we opted to utilize alternative methods of communication in lieu of traditional paper goods! With a destination wedding we still needed to send out a save-the-date and an invitation. I’ve seen couples use the typical paper save-the-dates and invitations, but for us it didn’t really work. Many people already knew where the wedding was - all they really needed was an official date to put on their calendar and detailed information to decide if they could join.

For our save-the-dates, we used a great website. It provided email and paper invitation options you can use for free or customize for a small fee for any event you could imagine. For an invitation, I created something similar to a newsletter. Our newsletter contained information on the resort, a timeline of events, room options, pricing and the booking of flights. I included pictures and links and even created an FAQ section for the things I thought the guests might inquire about. Not only did this serve as an invitation, but it included all the information they would need about traveling. This option may not be ideal for everyone, but it was a great option for us to share information with our guests. Plus it was a great way to save money, allowing us to put the extra money in our budget towards other things! I’ve included some images of what we created for you to check out!
