Nebraska Wedding Day Spring/Summer 2024

Professional ballerina Whitney Walsh traded her tutu for a wedding dress for her wedding to Mitch Woods. As Nebraska natives, the couple viewed their big day as a chance to escape to a desert oasis at La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs, California. The bride is a member of the American Midwest Ballet company, so dance naturally held a place of great significance throughout their special day. The couple shared their first dance as husband and wife to “La Vie en Rose,” and their final dance was to Hilary Duff’s “What Dreams Are Made Of.” In a day brimming with breathtaking details, the most heartfelt moment unfolded when Whitney and Mitch returned to the dance floor after the guests had departed. It was just the two of them, beneath the stars, swaying to the melodic strains of “Lover” by Taylor Swift. “It was truly special, something we hope other couples incorporate,” says Cathy O’Connell of COJ Events. “Weddings go by so fast, and to create a moment when you just stop, be together and take it in with no one else around, after it is all done, brought tears to our eyes.”
