La Vie En Rose: Lauren and John

French countryside inspired wedding at Le Boullion.
Sydney Stevens

Wedding Date: June 6, 2020

After meeting through a mutual friend and future best man on a float trip down the Elkhorn River, there was no denying Lauren Hinkle and John Musil were meant to be together. The soon-to-be couple messaged for a couple weeks before going on a dinner date. Two blissful years later, they took a trip to Maine. As the lovebirds watched the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain amid autumn splendor, John dropped to one knee and popped the question. “Our engagement was so much better than anything I could have imagined,” she says. Their original large ceremony had to shrink because of COVID-19, but Lauren and John said it turned out exactly how it was meant to. A last-minute venue cancellation led them to cold-calling restaurants, and Le Boullion delivered. “I feel like I owe them a kidney or my first-born,” Lauren jokes. “They were absolute lifesavers.” Inspired by the French countryside, the couple incorporated whimsical, ethereal looks into the dusky blue and rose palette, graced by greenery. A favorite moment happened before the reception when they went to a local bar for some alone time.
