To create a divine day at the Commercial Club Ballroom, Lindsey Raridon of Rose Joy kept the décor minimal, with a few well-placed pops of color inspired by shades synonymous with the legendary Greek island of Santorini: bougainvillea pinks, fresh greens and sunny yellows. Natural light from the towering windows floods the ballroom, while golden urns of silvery olive branches transport us to an Aegean paradise. Her petite bouquet is bold and bright, her simple gowns simply stunning. Gift boxes for the bridal party are a sweet sentiment, thoughtfully curated with items from Rose Joy’s shop in downtown Lincoln. Lemony accents complete the Greek theme in an illustrated invitation suite and desserts by Flour Shoppe Cookie Co.
The Lincoln Commercial Club’s recent restoration has returned the 1910 building to its elegant formality, but has pumped up the glamour from when it was the city’s staid men-only business club. Original architectural features include five 20-foot tall wood-clad Palladian windows, an ornately coffered ceiling and triple Juliet balconies from which to overlook the Ballroom and its adjacent bar and library. — Dana Walsh, Lincoln Commercial Club
