The past year has been a whirlwind of uncertainties and unexpected changes, especially for the wedding industry. Planning a wedding in normal times is always a daunting task - and in a global pandemic, it’s sure to be even crazier. But weddings have found new ways to adapt, allowing this celebration of love to prevail. Whether it is color palettes, floral arrangements, or guest lists, here are the hottest trends to make your wedding a showstopper. From neutral tones to intimate gatherings, these ideas are sure to spark inspiration and set your wedding apart from the crowd.

Expect to see velvet linens in luxurious deep greens and blues. With a growing interest in exploring sunset tones, there is likely to be more variety in linen color choices this year. These special touches highlight the couple’s personal taste and add a pop of color that brightens the entire day, such as these vibrant rugs in Stephanie and Brandon’s ceremony. Tori Tetrick from Elite Events Rental says, “Boho style rugs down the aisle add an intimate touch to any ceremony and are one of my favorite new trends."

The Covid-19 pandemic has also contributed to the rise of new wedding trends. Smaller guest lists have been a necessary change from the grand affairs we may be used to, but that doesn't mean they are any less special. Elopments and micro weddings are not only more affordable, but also allow the happy couple to splurge on other areas like custom linens or special guest favors, such as handwritten notes.

Consider skipping the need for travel and choosing from the community of small businesses around you!  A smaller Covid wedding is also the perfect opportunity to support local businesses that have been affected by the pandemic.

One trend that has caught our attention is a new way of dining together during the reception: individual servings like mini charcuterie boards or desserts. Not only does it keep guests and the couple safe, but they are a lot of fun and you can be creative with what you choose.

Another trend that has come into the spotlight more is also the inclusion of lounge furniture for guests and family members to relax and enjoy each other's company. All in all, 2021 weddings might look different, but we look forward to the unforgettable touches that couples and planners are sure to include to make these celebrations extra special.
