As details for our wedding began to come together, I found myself wanting to create a logo that we could use as a consistent element to put our “stamp” on the day. From our save the dates and invitations to thank you notes after the wedding, this would give us a way to tie everything together. After having my friend (and lucky for me, extremely talented graphic designer) help me with the design, I started wanting to use it everywhere! Visions of cocktail napkins, programs, menus, koozies, signage and etched toasting flutes began to fill my head. While I may not use this logo on absolutely everything, I love all the possibilities we have to stamp it, print, it, emboss it or paint it all around our celebration!
How to choose your wedding logo look:
Theme: Determine what you want your wedding to look like. Your vision will help you decide if you are looking for a more traditional monogram, trendy symbol or organic font and design. Since this is likely the first look at the theme of your wedding, it is important to set the tone and make sure it represents your style.
Information Included: We chose to have our logo simply include our future last initial, this way we could continue to use these keepsake items from the day for years to come as heirlooms – essentially a modern day family crest. You may also think about using your first initials, full names, symbols only or your wedding date. If you do include your wedding date, be sure to ask for a copy of your design without the date, so you are able to use it for reply cards and general use for years to come!
Colors: Mix and match elements of the designs with different colors from your wedding-day palette. You may want the design in one solid color or to accent it with different color or metallic shades.
