I am sending out our invitations this week. Cue the butterflies! We’re narrowing in on the two-month mark and invites are really the last truly “big” thing to do (I still have 8 million small to medium-sized things to do, though). My mom and grandma—who is again, an honorary bridesmaid—will be coming over tonight to help me stuff, put on stamps and address the envelopes. I think invitations are the first chance to set the tone for your wedding and I wanted ours to scream “THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!” I couldn’t be happier with the how they turned out (mostly because I designed them). I saw a somewhat similar design and made the idea my own. We did a two-sided glossy greeting card sized full color insert with just a matching two-sided RSVP postcard versus having an inner envelope, fancy cursive font or anything like that. Much cheaper and much more “us!” Here’s a glimpse at the front of the invitation. Forgive the poor quality of my phone’s camera and don’t worry, those big black boxes aren’t actually printed on there—just wanted to remove some of our more personal information before throwing it on the world wide web. The back has the hotel and registry info and a neat map, with this cool saying I saw somewhere online “Love. Laughter. Happily Ever After.”
I think it’s going to be quite the feeling dropping everything in the mailbox—and even more fun to start receiving responses back in the mail!
