This week we meet with our reception hall to finalize details.  Our venue is unlike many others, in that final numbers and payment are due a month prior, rather than a few weeks.  So we and our parents spent a few days getting a hold of the people who hadn’t yet RSVPd and things shook out to be about a 300 person-crowd.  Still, knowing all of these people will be in one place celebrating US doesn’t make it feel real.  I’ve been wondering throughout the whole process when things will stop feeling surreal. I mean,  not even picking placement of cake and gift tables and deciding upon a menu made it sink in. I’m hoping it doesn’t all just hit me on the day of and turn me into a big ol’ basket case!  I’m not one who cries at things normally (just Lifetime movies and that darn animal commercial with the Sarah McLachlan song) but who knows if the wedding will be different.  One thing I am legitimately excited about is seeing Matt’s reaction to seeing me for the first time. It’s always my favorite part of a ceremony and my own will be no different. We are taking pictures prior to the actual ceremony, but we’ll still do a sneak peek with each other so we can share in a few private moments before the rest of it.

Now, with the reception details finalized, the to-do list is shortening. Just lots of little things—programs, wedding party gift shopping, booking nail appointments, and of course meeting with the rest of the vendors to finalize.  Wish me luck that I can make it all happen in the next 4 weeks. Like, literally, just 30 days from today!!

P.S.  My bachelorette party was super fun! Here are a few photos.

P.P.S This weekend is my second bridal shower at my MOH’s house so I should have more pictures to share next week from that!  Maybe all the presents in hand will help me realize I’m really getting married?!
