I started a new job this week so needless to say, I haven't had time to focus on wedding planning amidst all the training. So what I'l do for my post this week is share updates on some things I've already written about.
Rehearsal Dinner: We decided not to be all that unique after all and booked the church we're getting married at to host the event, with Mangia Italiana catering and serving the actual dinner. If you've never tasted their pasta alfredo or garlic rolls, you haven't lived--soo good! I have to carb up for the big day, right?
Tuxes: The guys will be renting tuxes at Tip Top Tux similar to the picture below. It's a little less casual than what I first planned, but Matt said he wanted to feel fancy, too, so a three-button, pinstripe it is! Matt will wear an ivory vest and tie just like the photo, while the groomsmen will have chocolate brown under their tux and the ushers will just be vest-less. Ringbearers have been instructed to just find a comparable color khaki pant and then wear a long sleeved white dress shirt with it on their own. I think this will all match well with the girls' dresses, but we'll see for sure in 94 short days!
Registry: We FINALLY went last week to Bed, Bath and Beyond in person to start our registry. No one told me how stressful it'd be! We only got about halfway done, but we mostly wanted to do just kitchen necessities there and pretty much did accomplish that as a start. I still need to go in person to JC Penney to pick out bedding, bath towels and home decor type stuff, though, which I think will be more exciting by default. My aunt and cousin will be throwing me my first bridal shower in mid-August so I really need to get on the whole gift registry thing--3 weeks to find like 300 things I want!
MY look: I said and wanted statement earrings and statement earrings I got. I bought these babies from Etsy; they're yellow and "something blue" Swarkovsky crystal. I'm not sure yet if I'll wear other jewelry, but it'd just be a bracelet if so. I bought my shoes as well. They don't necessarily match my wedding colors but they were on super clearance at DSW and couldn't pass them up. They're strappy heels and somewhat blingy, so not exactly "fall" but no one sees them anyway and I can wear them again if I want!
Honeymoon: We're still going to Jamaica but Matt still can't swim. Any takers on teaching him??
