I don’t just write for this blog – I get ideas from it, too! It was about two months ago that I saw an image on this inspiration board and I’ve thought about that picture of Smitten Sticks almost every day since.
There will be approximately 36 tables of 10 at our reception and I will have three different types of centerpieces scattered throughout those tables. Twelve tables will be lucky enough to be sitting with my version of Smitten Sticks.
I guess it’s actually our photographer’s version of them. Bethany of Photography by Bethany in Elkhorn totally rocked out our engagement shoot back in early Spring and now she has designed the cutest brown and yellow “props” that I will glue to craft sticks and have for guests to play and take photos with. We’ve taken that original inspiration photo and have used it as such to now put together a really fun, customized very “Blair and Matt” centerpiece as a result. I won’t share the photo of what they look like exactly, not only because I don’t want guests knowing every detail before the big day, but because I haven’t started the assembly process yet. I will, however, show you this photo of what else will be with “the Sticks”: mini chalkboards. I ordered enough on Etsy to place two 5” x 7” boards at each of those 12 tables and will pre-write messages such as “Have” on one and “Fun” on the other. But of course I encourage guests to erase and write their own funny phrases to show off around the room and in pictures!
