Many newly-engaged couples like to take a few weeks or months to enjoy their engagement before the wedding planning begins ... not this bride! The first item on my list was the venue, mostly because I'm planning my wedding from afar. Also, wedding venues book up quickly, especially in Nebraska during football season! Selecting the venue early has really helped us in framing our theme and choosing items from decor, food and even my dress! A short three days after our engagement, we selected a museum for our ceremony and reception venue. I love the location for our guests since it's close to some of my favorite local restaurants and shops. I absolutely love the grand and timeless feel of the space, plus the art collection is amazing!
