Bride Blogger Brittney , Getting Organized

There are so many components to any wedding-planning process, no matter the location or size. One of the first things I did was educate myself on the timeline for planning a destination wedding in addition to planning our reception back home. Then I started making notes about vendors that I was interested in using, but I needed a place to put all this information and just get organized. I never really found a great resource for my exact situation though, so I decided to create a wedding binder.

I highly recommend getting a wedding binder. For more traditional weddings there are great pre-made binders from experts or even well-known wedding blogs. I chose to make my own so I could customize the dividers and lists to my own wedding-planning process. Using Pinterest, I was able to find great resources for creating your own binder. An example of some sections I included in my binder are: venue & entertainment, décor, budget, inspiration and a calendar of items to be completed each month.

In addition, I’ve found great checklists for everything from creating a budget, to changing your name, to a list of photography shots to be sure to capture on the big day. Staying organized through this process has made me feel more confident in my planning process overall!
