One of the details that has been a struggle for me is planning what the men will wear for a destination wedding. I like fashion and shopping, but menswear on the beach is tricky. At a traditional ceremony in a church or wedding venue, the obvious option is a tux or nice suit. The fact that our wedding is on a beach adds a new element - a more casual element. Finding the balance between a casual venue and menswear that is elegant enough for a wedding has been difficult.
There are so many options that I have loved - too many options for me to make a decision just yet. Here are some that I have been considering:
OPTION 1: All the men (Drew, the groomsmen and fathers) in matching or similar navy suits.
OPTION 2: Drew in a full navy suit and the groomsmen and fathers in an ensemble that would include pants, a jacket and a tie.
OPTION 3: Drew in a full navy suit, fathers in pants and a jacket and groomsmen in a outfit that is a little more casual and fun.
We prefer option 3, with Drew in a formal outfit and the fathers in something semi-formal. Since my dad will be walking me down the aisle, I'm worried he may look too casual. The groomsmen will be in more casual pieces, but there are also several ideas for that! There are so many great menswear pieces for groomsmen to wear, especially on the beach, like suspenders, bow ties or linen beach pants. My plan to have the confidence to make a final decision is to shop for options and have Drew model them. I also want to see them next to the bridesmaid dress to ensure they coordinate.
