Every bride and groom will have to think about photography and videography and how it fits into your day. One piece of advice that has stuck with me throughout the wedding-planning process is to choose the few things that are truly important to you as a couple and focus on those. For us, a destination wedding meant so many people would not be able to see our wedding or be a part of that day. So photography and videography was one of the best things we could have dedicated space in our budget to - it is a way to share the day with everyone who can’t come. Other brides had told me that videography was one thing they wish they would have put more consideration into. In regards to a destination wedding specifically, I was advised to look into the photography options the resorts offered.

We knew we would want both video and photo options to share and remember our day. I asked for references from friends and then looked on Instagram and Facebook to explore photographers’ work. The Nebraska Wedding Day magazine was also a great resource! Drew and I narrowed it down to 5-6 photographers and emailed asking about package prices and their availability to travel for destination weddings. Honestly, the photographer we ended up with was such a stroke of fate. Our wedding date was the only weekend left in May she had available, she preferred only a few destination weddings per year and had not yet booked one for 2017, and she offered to do some video clips of the day for us! It was perfect - I couldn’t believe it! She did amazing on our engagement photos and I can’t wait to see what she does for our wedding!
