Bride Blogger Casey - Dessert Bar updated

These days, brides are thinking beyond the standard tiered wedding cake and dessert table display. Cupcakes, pies and even donuts are becoming more and more commonly seen at wedding feasts. I'm a big fan of this trend, simply because it allows the couple of honor to show a bit more of their personalities than they would by serving a traditional tiered cake.

My fiance and I have decided to keep a few traditional elements and have a small tiered cake for us to cut, but also include several dessert options for our guests using "famous" dessert recipes from within our two families. We thought that this would be a sentimental way to honor our parents, grandparents and great grandparents while providing something tasty that everyone can enjoy! I'm most looking forward to having my late grandmother's famous chocolate pie available for everyone to taste. She loved to bake and I think that she'd be thrilled at the idea of being honored in that way.
