Fresh cut flowers from the florist make a stunning statement, but there's an alternative that you may want to consider: potted plants as centerpieces!
Spring has finally sprung, and as I was visiting my friend's greenhouse in order to pick out some plants for my garden, this idea struck me like lightening! There were such beautiful displays of flowers, it almost seemed a shame to pluck them from their beds and arrange them in any sort of way. I especially like the idea of using potted plants as centerpieces for brides having a wedding with an outdoor or rustic theme. But you can just as easily fit potted plants into an elegant affair by switching them out of their generic clay pots into something more ornate - or simply by spray painting the clay pots gold or silver.
Potted plants as decor can also double as favors for your guests. Let's face it ... you're not going to have room for 20 pots of arrangements in your honeymoon suite! Let your guests take home their favorites and they'll have something beautiful to remember the special day.
If potted centerpieces aren't really your thing, or if you have your heart set on another style, consider incorporating potted cactus or succulents. Succulents are very "in" right now, and your guests will be pleased to take home this low-maintenance memento of your wedding day.
