“You can wear it again!”
Ah, that old familiar phrase uttered by every bride as she bestows the honor of donning a matching bridesmaid dress to half a dozen of her dearest friends. The product of both fashion trends and the bride’s whims, bridesmaids dresses can take nearly any form. While Tudor caps dominated the 1950’s and taffeta puff sleeves ruled the 1980’s, women in 2015 are trending towards a more practical choice in their bridal party attire and allowing their gals to mix-and-match dress styles. Allowing your best gal pals to either wear a dress they already have or pick a new one of their choosing (within the palette of your wedding colors) is not only economical, but also gives your bridesmaids the opportunity to feel more confident as they celebrate your big day with you and your husband-to-be! With such beautiful trends in colors and styles these days, most brides are picking dresses for their wedding party that will actually be worn again.
The mix-and-match bridesmaid look is ideal for my wedding party because (in addition to the reasons listed above) all of my closest friends have very different body types. When it comes down to it, there is no one style that would suit all of my girls’ figures in a way that would make them feel comfortable, confident and happy. So, one of my first tasks after finding my own gown was to search far and wide for good mix-and-match options for my wedding party.
I was starting to feel distressed about the various negative reviews and pour-quality products I was finding online. It seemed that my only choice would be to either ask my bridesmaids to get a poor quality product or ask them to shell out a mortgage payment on an article of clothing. But after doing some extensive research and ordering samples for my bridesmaids, finally success! I ended up finding a great option that worked best for me and my bridesmaids. I picked out the color and each of my bridesmaids are picking which style they would like to wear based on what suits their body type and budget the best. Not only is everyone happy, but hopefully in our case, my friends will end up with a dress that they truly will wear again!
