Largely thanks to Pinterest, DIY nail art has made a huge comeback over the past few years. Fresh ideas and tutorials for bridal nails have infiltrated the blogosphere and YouTube channels, making it easier than ever for brides to customize their look to suit their desired wedding theme. It used to be that a bride's nails rarely deviated from traditional ruby red, blushing baby pink or an elegant French tip. Just ask your mother or you grandmother what her nails looked like for her wedding day!
One trend that has caught on like wildfire is the glitter-ombre look. I'm a big fan because of how subtle it is! This style allows you to keep with a traditional nail color palette, adding just a bit of pizzazz. To get this effect, all you do is sprinkle a bit of glitter or sparkly eyeshadow at the very tips of your nails and let it diffuse downward.
Chrome or glitter French tip is a hot take on the traditional. This can be easily recreated with stick-on nail guides purchased from Target, Amazon or almost any drug store!
Lace nails are probably the most awe-inspiring of the online DIY nail art demonstrations. This effect is created by cutting the lace pattern to fit over your nails and trimming it down. Use a base polish, then a top coat. Let the top coat act as glue for the lace and use a toothpick to make sure every inch is pressed against the nail bed. Once the polish is dry, swipe a clear coat over the lace and voila!
