Bride Blogger Christine: Cruise Tips

Spotlight

Over Christmas, Bobby and I went on a Caribbean cruise. It was awesome to relax and take a break from wedding planning. We are still trying to figure out where we are going to honeymoon, so here's info about the cruise! My favorite stop on the cruise was Cozumel - a gorgeous and quaint little island off the Mexican coast with a beautiful beach (and powerful sun!). Here is my advice to any brides and grooms considering a cruise:

  1. Pack sunscreen (obviously), but also pack chap stick with SPF and aloe. The farther south the ship heads, the stronger the sun is, and you don't want to have to buy sunscreen on the ship or at a port - expensive!
  2. Get to know the ship well - what kind of night life, activities, etc. are there? We spent a good chunk of our time on the Serenity Deck - an adult only area with hot tubs, lounge chairs, and a fantastic view. But there were clubs, shows, restaurants, mini golf courses and a lot more.
  3. Plan at least one fun outing to give you a break from that lounge chair in the sand. Bobby golfed at the Cozumel Country Club and had a great time. The course is filled with local wildlife like alligators, iguanas, and wild boars. He had a blast. And it was a nice change from lounging all day.
  4. Give yourself some time to explore the city where you board the ship - we spent the weekends before and after the cruise in New Orleans eating seafood, exploring the French Quarter, and shopping. It was like another mini vacation!

I hope you all have wonderful, relaxing honeymoons!
