bride blogger dani: bridal shower

Spotlight

This past weekend I had my first bridal shower. I feel like every week I say this, but this whole wedding business is feeling more and more real with each passing event :) My Maid of Honor hosted the shower for my bridesmaids and some of my family—she was just as excited as I was, and did an absolutely amazing job setting everything up, it was perfect! Everything was purple, blue, and green (my wedding colors) and she made all the food herself, and it was delicious!

As I am sure you are aware, Thursday morning I noticed that the weathermen kept referring to the ‘weekend storms’ that were supposed to make their way into our area Saturday and I started to get a little nervous the weather was going to keep people from attending my shower. Well Saturday morning rolled around and the forecast did not look promising, however, by the start of the shower it seemed the weather was going to hold out for us. Despite the warnings almost everyone was able to make it and we all had a great time.

It was one of those afternoons where you look around and think of how lucky you are to have so many women supporting you through one of the biggest events in your life! I had planned on taking photos afterwards, but unfortunately Mother Nature had a different idea. Right in the middle of opening presents a thunderstorm started to roll through so we decided to end things early. It is probably for the best because right after we all left I got a text from my Maid of Honor saying they had lost power! Talk about a memorable day!

All in all, it was a great day! I was able to spend time with many wonderful individuals, received many generous gifts to help start Kane and I’s new home, and was reminded how lucky I am to have these people in my life.

Have a great weekend!
