As I mentioned last week I have been trying to figure out the cake situation for our reception. I mentioned in one of my very first posts that I plan on serving cupcakes instead of the traditional sheet cakes that are served at most weddings. For some reason throughout this whole planning process cupcakes have really stood out to me and are the one thing I haven’t changed my mind a million times on. One thing I know for sure is that I still want to be able to cut a cake, so Kane and I will have an 8 inch round cake to cut. I imagine it looking something like this, but with different colors of course!
Kane and I have to head home in a couple weeks to work on wedding tasks, and I am pretty excited to taste some cupcake samples! This past week I have been trying to find a cake topper that I like. I have been scouring etsy for the perfect option.
Figurine Cake Topper – These are so adorable! They would not go very well with the style at my wedding, but they would be cute and something fun to display in your new home after the wedding.
Monogram Cake Topper – I debated back and forth whether I wanted to get this traditional monogram topper—I mean the bling has a way of catching your attention! In the end I decided I wanted something different.
Pearl Cake Topper – This one instantly caught my eye. I love pearls, they are so elegant, and I liked how this one didn’t look so ‘perfect’. It is still a traditional monogram like the one above, but with a different feel. I found it a couple weeks ago and kept coming back to it and finally purchased it a couple days ago! Once we talk to our cake baker about what color we will have our top cake, I may have to look into putting flowers or ribbon on top in order to break up the color (white cake/white topper).
Hope everyone has a great week! -Dani
