bride blogger dani: card box

Spotlight

This past weekend I made a trip to Hobby Lobby to get some of the essentials for the DIY projects I plan on doing when I go home during Christmas. I was just strolling through the Christmas decorations when I stumbled upon their Christmas ribbon selections, and they had a ton of ribbon in my wedding colors!! I grabbed a couple, a few which were a darker blue and had peacock feather designs on them; I figured I could use it to wrap hostess and bridal party gifts with. My favorite find is a dark turquoise that has a blue/gold design on it and is going to work perfectly with what I have planned out for my card box!

Card Box Inspiration

I know it is hard to imagine with this picture, but this is the look I am going for, except with a turquoise color and the ribbon I have selected.

The great thing about Hobby Lobby is they always have so many sales! The ribbon I bought was 50% off and I found many other items I plan on going back for when they start going on sale as well. Another thing that has impressed me with Hobby Lobby is they are so willing to accommodate what I need. For example, I wanted some peacock feathers to use throughout the reception and for the boys’ boutonnieres, but the ones they had out looked like they had been tossed around and had seen better days. When talking to one of the sales associates she informed me I can ask them to notify me when the next shipment will come in and they will let me pick out the ones I want straight from the box! I won’t have to worry about anyone else taking them in and out of the displays or messing with the feathers, lesson learned—it never hurts to ask!

It is hard to imagine that my wedding is eight months away, at times it seems like it will take forever to get here, but at other times I am panicking because I know I have so much to do still!

Have a good week everyone!
