bride blogger dani: the music

Spotlight

I have checked another big item off my checklist: the reception music! I have booked Pure Platinum DJ Service out of Kearney to DJ. When I was in high school these guys did all our dances, I’ve been to weddings where they have been, and this last summer I was at a family reunion where they provided the music. At all of these events the dance floor was packed and people were having a blast—exactly what I want for our reception. The DJs know how to keep people on the dance floor and have a good time. I can’t wait till I get to work more with these guys after the first of the year!!

When I go home for Christmas next month I will be meeting with Fran from Platinum Event and Wedding Rentals to figure out exactly how I want to decorate the reception area. Since I have checked music off my list I have been focusing on my dance floor. I was thinking of putting some tables around the outside of the floor—so people have a place to set their drinks when they are dancing.

I also love paper lanterns! At first, I wanted to put them all over my reception area, but then I thought it might be nice to only have them over the dance floor. This way the dance area is separate from the rest of the tables.

I have also been considering doing a floor monogram. I think it would be something to ‘spruce’ up the dance floor, and something I would be able to incorporate in little details throughout the whole day. How do you guys feel about monograms?? I am still a little on the fence about them.

Hope you all have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
