bride blogger dani: time management

Spotlight

Planning a wedding is time consuming, and at times extremely stressful and overwhelming. I have been engaged for almost a year now and it seems like my list of to dos is always growing! My organizational skills have really been put to the test. I have realized just how important it is to manage my time and work on the small projects along the way. For example, I have been tying ribbon on the bubbles we plan on having when we leave our ceremony. I have about 200 bubbles and I figured it would take me a couple hours to finish it all. It took me 8 hours to tie all the ribbon!!! Thank goodness I started (and finished) this project instead of waiting a couple weeks before the wedding.

There are a couple things I have found to help keep me on task when I feel like I don’t even know where to begin.

Lists- I am a huge list maker and this is one thing that has kept me on track. When I have an idea I write it down that way I am not racking my brain for it later. Also, I have been trying to separate my lists into different categories, which helps a ton. I have already started my list of things I need to accomplish when I go home this next weekend, that way I am not forgetting anything.

Help from friends and family-When I first got engaged a lot of people offered to help with projects, which I chalked up to them just being nice. However, I have learned to take them up on their offers! People are only going to offer their help if they truly want to help you with your big day.

Relax- At times I find myself getting really worked up when I think about all the things I have yet to accomplish in the next 6 months. But in all reality, no one is going to know if I don’t have time to finish a project (unless its something big like finding someone to make a cake). If I continue to stress out about the little things its only going to keep me from enjoying the small things leading up to my big day.

What things have you used to stay on track? Have a good week!
