With all the preparation and scheduling it takes to plan a wedding, sometimes it's hard to remember that this monumental occasion unfolds over the course of one single day. Having a handful of girlfriends that are already married, I have been lucky enough to pick their brains for wedding advice, and one thing they all agree on is that the day will fly by.
My main take away from them is to take in each and every moment.
Following that mindset, as Nicholas and I were looking for a photographer, we really wanted to find someone who could not only capture the intimate details of our wedding day, but also infuse each image with the emotional atmosphere from our big day. When I came across our photographer, I was instantly mesmerized by their ability to capture moments. Their images are not stiff or contrived; instead, they showcase real people in real moments, which unfold to tell beautiful stories. See a few of our favorites from our engagement shoot above!
Overall, I encourage each of you to meet with a few of your potential photographers before you make any decisions. It is so important to have that personal interaction with them before you sign a contact! While a website can do a great job of showcasing their finest work, it doesn't allow you to form any sort of human connection with them. Taking the time to meet up for coffee allows you to get a feeling for their personalities and shooting style. Remember, this person is going to be your shadow, so you want to make sure that you feel comfortable and natural around them!
