Throughout the years, my family has become filled with traditions - some that started when my mom and dad were little and some that have started in more recent years. I have grown to love these traditions, as each one has a special purpose and meaning to me. I am very excited to be incorporating the traditions other members of my family have included in their weddings. We don't practice these traditions often so when we do, they are always so fun and special.
First, as I am getting ready, we will put a penny in a blue pouch (my something blue). Second, I will put one in the sole of my shoe. My grandma always believed it would bring extra good luck! It will be such a special touch, especially since she will not be there with us.
A third tradition will occur during the reception. My grandpa sings an Italian song while we all form a circle around him and pass a bottle of wine. It's an old Italian tradition that we all seem to love. The look on the guests' faces during this event is priceless!
