Bride Blogger Emily - Food Tasting, V2

Nick and I attended a food tasting at the Hilton Omaha last weekend and had a great time trying and choosing our menu selections for the reception! We weren't sure what to expect, as neither of us had ever experienced a tasting like this before, but it is something I would definitely recommend you do before your reception! This was one of the primary aspects of the wedding planning that Nick wanted to be a part of, and it was a great activity for us to share together as a couple. The tasting began with us trying six hors d'oeuvres that will be served during the cocktail hour. We both loved the miniature beef wellingtons, brie & raspberry puffs and antipasto skewers. A FUN LITTLE FACT - by having the hors d'oeuvres passed butler-style, you can significantly cut the costs because it allows you to control the consumption!

After tasting the hors d'oeuvres, we tried three different salads. We both LOVED the spinach salad with fresh fruit, goat cheese and toasted almonds. It had a fresh taste and was something we think our guests will love! After the salad was selected, we moved on to the entrees. We were very anxious to try the short ribs, and they were incredible! For the entrees, we tried short ribs paired with chicken breast, flatiron steak paired with chicken breast and chicken breast served on top of crab cakes. We made our decision, but our guests will have to wait until August to find out which entree we selected!

Cheers!
