Honoring your loved ones who have passed or those that simply cannot be in attendance is a wonderful way to remember those special family members and make it feel as if they are still a part of your day. Nick and I have both lost all but one grandparent. However, Nick's grandma is 97 years old and unable to travel to Omaha. Through each passing and time spent with his grandma, I've realized how important your loved ones are and to hold them close to your heart each and every day.
My fiance and I will be honoring our grandparents a couple ways throughout the ceremony and reception. We will have flowers placed in the church in their honor along with a special note in the program, and lastly, my grandpa (who takes full credit for Nick and I being together) will get special recognition during the toasts. He has known Nick since he was very little and growing up, he had told me that we should date - I'm glad he was able to get what he had always wanted!
