I've managed to keep myself pretty busy with lots of things this week...
I had my second dress fitting on Saturday. I'd originally gone in two weeks ago for a consultation and we started by taking several inches out of the bodice. At Saturday's appointment, we checked the fitting of the bodice, and started on the hem. I'll go back in another two weeks to check the hem and start on the bustle, then in another two weeks to check over all of it. I was supposed to have my shoes when I went in on Saturday to start on the hem. I have had a heck of a time finding shoes that I loved, so ended up taking in a pair of Nine West heels that I already had that also matched the color of my dress. By the end of the fitting, I was ready to toss 'em because I realized that, although cute, I definitely wouldn't want to wear them for an entire day/evening. Jerad was making a trip to Omaha later that day, so I tagged along for the ride and had him take me to Westroads to shop while he did his thing.
The shopping trip proved successful, as I scored a new pair of heels from DSW that were the right height and color, and I even liked the style, too. At Von Maur, I also found a couple of cute options for a flower girl dress for Lilly. This is the PERECT time to shop for flower girl dresses in non-bridal stores because everyone is getting their holiday lines in, so the dresses are a little more formal than you might find during any other time of the year. I actually ended up buying two different dresses on Saturday, which I am still deciding between, but so far this one (from the Princess Faith collection) is scoring the most votes in my office. My favorite part of this dress is the belt with the rows of pearls. So so cute!
Our Sunday afternoon was dedicated to finishing up our invites. I'm thankful that Jerad is so patient and willing to help with things. He logged in a couple of hours on the phone trying to wrangle in the addresses that we were missing. Since the post office wasn't open, my mom and I made a trip to Hy-Vee, where the girls at the service counter were sweet enough to take the time to weigh and meter each invite for us. Although, we still do have a few needing to go out, the bulk of them are headed to mailboxes across the country. It's a pretty awesome feeling to check this item off of the task list!
52 days to go!
