A couple of posts back, I'd mentioned that I was looking forward to spending a day hanging out with one of my bridesmaids. She came to Kearney for a visit that Thursday night, then I took Friday off from work and we headed to Lincoln for fun-filled girls day out. We started with lunch at Ruby & Cordelia's Fine Tea Room. Although it has been kept as a bit of a secret in Lincoln, you're missing out if you haven't been there! Tea sandwiches, fresh scones with cream and berries, dessert, teas, and it's all so pretty! I'd been here in the past for Mother's day, but it's the perfect place for a bridal luncheon or shower, too. After lunch, we spent some time playing in the bridal shop where Lila picked the style for her bridesmaid dress (each bridesmaid picked her own style from the same designer of my gown) and got it ordered.
On another note, I decided to go the route of designing and printing our invitations myself. I decided it would definitely be worth the investment of my time to save us a few hundred dollars in the end. I spent about $15 to buy a disc of fonts from Hobby Lobby, picked out an invitation suites at Michael's, then spent about an hour or so on the layout and wording. I'm pretty happy with how the design turned out and am looking forward to having everything printed and in the mail. I'll be back in Lincoln again this weekend for my first dress fitting, so we're planning on having a little invitation party at my mom's while I'm there, too.
73 days to go!
