bride blogger katie: the guest book

Spotlight

I can't believe that the wedding is coming up next month already.  It seems that the time has just flown by!  I'm realizing that I'm probably going to have to trim down some of the project ideas I've had, but I still want to do something special with our guest book.  I want to have a something that is more interactive and personal than just a traditional book that would end up tucked away in a drawer or chest.  These are some of my favorites that I've found via Pinterest:

 1.  The Polaroid Guest Book - Kind of photo booth-ish, but the Polaroid could circulate around the reception to capture more than just one "scene".  With the right people as guest book attendants, it could be a fun experience for all!

 2.  The Literary Guest Book - Guests can circle, star, underline, etc. words that have special meaning as reminders of the day.  In this example, a dictionary was used, but I would think you could use just about any book that holds special meaning to you.

 3. Signed Plates - I love, love, love this idea because we could hang these in our home and get to see them daily, too!  So, so pretty!

 4. Framed "Guest Book" - Another home decor item, this Etsy seller sends you paper hearts to be signed by guests, then you send them back to be arranged and mounted.

 5. Anniversary Messages - Table numbers double as your guest book when you ask guests to write you a message to be opened on that corresponding anniversary.  I can only imagine what we'd be reading for the first time in 15 years...  Similarly, I saw another idea where guests signed bottles of wine to be opened on designated anniversaries.  As much as I love that, I know that I don't want to actualy lug around cases of wine.  This option seems much lighter!  :)

Have you been to a wedding recently where they had a non-traditional guest book?  What are your favorite guest book trends right now?
