I'm looking forward to some much needed girl time later this week. One of my 'maids is going to make the trip from Omaha on Thursday evening. The plan is dinner, some vino, playing catch up on our busy lives, and lots and lots of wedding talk. I've arranged to take Friday off from work so that Lila & I can dig into some more of the planning and never-ending details. I think we are also going to get her dress ordered on Friday. I finally decided to just select several styles from Mori Lee's lines of bridesmaid dresses and let each girl pick the style she likes best. Some are short, some are long, most have a different neckline, but all will be black satin. I'm excited to see what everyone picks!
Speaking of the never-ending details, I've become Pinterest-obsessed. There are so many creative people out there and I love seeing the unique spins and twists people put into the details of their weddings to make them so personal and memorable. My problem is that I really don't have the luxury of time for DIY projects. While I do have some time away from my office this week, I'm going to work on whittling down the ideas that I love into manageable projects that I can handle with the limited time that I have. As we're closing in on the 3-month countdown, I have a pretty good feeling that time will start to fly!
One project that I am ready to start (and maybe a little behind on, too) is our invitation design. Since the invitation is really the first peek that many guests will get of the wedding, it is important to me that it reflects a certain style and tone. I do also feel like the invitation is one place that I personally don't want to invest a lot of funds. At the same time, I don't know that I have the time (or desire) to print them out myself either. I'm kind of in limbo on which direction to go on this one at the moment, and I'm betting that some of you have been in the same boat. This is an example of a style I've fallen head-over-heels for:
How many of you have designed and/or printed your own invites (or are planning to do so)? Did you learn any heard lessons by trying to take this task on yourself or was it a breeze?
94 days to go!
