Good news... we're getting closer to having everyone in our wedding party clothed for the big day! Jerad made a trip to Lincoln to get the tuxes set up at Savvi's. We were somewhat clueless as far as who to pick to handle the tuxes, but our minds were quickly made up when Jerad needed to find a place to take his measurements for an out of town wedding he'll be in this fall. We popped into Savvi's at Gateway on a whim because it was convenient. We were so impressed with the service we recieved that day when we weren't even technically customers of the business that it brought to use them for our wedding.
Although I tagged along with Jerad to get things set-up, I happily stood back and let him make his decisions on what he wanted to wear. Luckily, his taste, like mine, is clean and classic. He chose a 2-button jacket with a notch lapel, flat-front pants for him (everyone else will have the pleated style), and modern-style dress shoes. When it came time to pick out the vests & ties for everyone, I got to jump in and help narrow down the options. Jerad chose to go with a necktie instead of a bowtie. One thing I didn't realize is that there would be so many different combinations to decide on from there (1 for the groom, another for the fathers, another for the groomsmen, another for the ushers, etc.). I found a paisley tie that I LOVED. I wasn't so sure that all of our groomsmen would feel as strongly about it, so just the fathers will be wearing that design (similar to the one shown below from Jos A. Bank). Groomsmen will have a pewter-colored tie; ushers will have black. Both groups will sport a black vest as well. I can't wait to see all of the guys dressed up!
Today, my matron of honor will be doing some dress shopping of her own in New Orleans. Another challenge of living a minimum of 2 hours away from any of my bridesmaids is that we can't all go checking out dresses together. Bre has rallied a posse of her own to do some shopping tomorrow and they'll be sending pictures back to me of their favorite dresses. I've also asked Bre's daughter, Lilly, to be our flower girl. She'll be just under the age of 3 by the time the wedding rolls around. Even at a young age, she already has a love for shoes, and she's a total ham, so I think she'll have a fun time with it! How cute is the idea of a flower girl purse?!?!
143 days to go!
