{bride blogger megan} reception tasting

Spotlight

Tyler and I went to our tasting at Hillcrest Country Club last night and had such a blast trying our meal selections. I was absolutely blown away with the experience and the set up our coordinator, Kim, created for us. If you can, I definitely recommend arranging a tasting with your reception hall or catering. It was a great activity for us to share and really helped us plan the whole evening for our guests. We started the evening trying a few options for hors d'œuvre. We both loved the bruscetta and miniature beef wellingtons. We plan on selecting 2-3 options for our reception. I also learned that having hors d'oeuvre butler passed can be more cost efficient than having stations for guests. Something I didn't know!

We then tried six different salads(thank you again, Kim!) and both fell in love with a fresh and fruity salad. We hope our guests will love it, because we sure did! After we selected a salad we moved on and tried two beef options and two chicken. Tyler and I both agreed on one beef option and one chicken and loved the side dishes we selected as well. I want to keep them a secret so our guests have some surprises waiting for them in August!

After our meal, we sat down with Kim and went over some basic questions I had. We discussed my ideas for where to put the cake, the wishing tree, etc. and also discussed ideas for our signature drink. Tyler and I have some research to do as we prepare some ideas for that! We will meet Kim once more in August to go over every last detail. I am beyond excited! I have enjoyed working with not only Kim, but all of my vendors so far. They have gone above and beyond for me. I cannot wait to see everything come together in less than 2 months!

On our way home we stopped by our jewelers and purchased our wedding bands. Tyler is so excited to wear his and talks about it often. I love the band he selected and I cannot wait to see him in it on our wedding day.

Cheers!
