{bride blogger megan} the veil + fitting

Spotlight

Last night I had my first gown fitting at Ellynne Bridal and it went faster than I expected! Maybe I thought watching women with dramatic alterations on Say Yes To The Dress was the norm, but my fitting took less than 30 minutes and I left with just two "alterations."(I guess I can say I am lucky!) I am having cups sewn in as well as a hem-bustle. The waist and the length were perfect. I loved having it on again and I really secretly wished the fitting took longer so I could stay in it! I will definitely miss taking  peeks at my gown while it is gone, but my next fitting is in the beginning of August(which will fly by!) I seriously cannot wait!

The other peice I am missing is my veil. I bought my dress because I love it, it fits perfectly and is extremely timeless, but I also bought it because of the vision Ellynne Bridal gave me when I tried it on. I had a hard time envisioning a veil on myself, and when I tried on a very simple one, it completely transformed my dress(and not the direction I was thinking) Lynne, the owner of Ellynne Bridal, then showed me what a simple veil would look like with Russian Tulle, and I fell in love. It was fun, flirty, a little country and exactly what I needed. I also plan to scrunch it and pin it to the side of my updo after the ceremony as a head piece, which makes me even more excited!

Here is an example of a Tessa Kim veil and is basically what it would look like. It will be pinned the other direction and it will also be longer. (This veil is 18", mine will be 25")

Cheers!
