We talked about what makes a successful marriage. It's kind of crazy, but you can get so wrapped up in all the details of the wedding, the flowers, cake, music, dress, shoes, and so on, that focusing on how you will make your marriage work kind of takes a back seat. So, it was nice to meet with him and get some pointers on how to argue (because every couple does), and how to address things that may be bothering you about your spouse without making them feel bad. Pastor Wayne stressed to us to make sure we go on dates and make time to do fun things together after we are married. Routines are good but you still need a little spice in your relationship.
To be honest, I thought the meeting with Pastor Wayne was going to be stuffy and very boring, but it was completely the opposite! It was fun and laid back and we couldn't have chosen a better pastor to perform our service!
