I am getting married August 11, 2012 to my fiancé Kane.
Kane and I have known of each other since high school, thanks to a mutual friend that went to high school with Kane. Two years later we both ended up at UNL in the same freshmen biology class. About half way through the semester we made the connection that we knew each other and Kane started inviting me to study with him. Needless to say, I was instantly attracted to him and was bummed he only invited me to study and do schoolwork with him! The school year ended with both of us going home for the summer, staying in touch through text. Finally, with about three weeks left of summer Kane asked me out on a date to a concert at the Hall County fair, we had a blast! And as they say, the rest is history.
How he proposed
It was a Sunday evening and Kane had called me asking if I wanted to make supper with him, which I thought was weird, since we did this together every night. When he got to my apartment he was dressed up, and asked why I was wearing sweats (I had been studying all day). He told me he would make supper while I showered and changed, which was kind of a red flag since Kane does not cook. After supper we went to get some ice cream for dessert and on our way home he said he wanted to drive around for awhile. When he pulled up to the Sunken Gardens, I knew what was going on since this is a place we love and usually stop at during our dates in the summer. As we walked around I could tell how nervous he was. We stopped, Kane got down on one knee, and I was so overcome with happiness that I don’t remember the rest!!
