"Will you be my bridesmaid?" The second most important question (the first being the proposal!) in the planning process is asking your nearest and dearest to be a part of your big day. “The special moments shared between the bride and her bridesmaids should be celebrated and highlighted,” says Lindsey Raridon, owner of the floral and event rental company Rose Joy. “Bridesmaids don’t get enough attention, and they’re such a big part of the day—and the planning process. They deserve some love!” As such, Lindsey joined forces with photographer Laura Cuong to inspire brides to take a moment to celebrate the loved ones who stand by your side throughout the process. A beautiful getting-ready scene at The James House was created that included a field of flowers comprising garden roses, eremurus, willow, larkspur, dianthus and tulips. For the bridal party bouquets, Rose Joy incorporated ranunculus, peonies, dianthus and pincushion protea.

Set a festive atmosphere during hair and makeup by providing snacks such as these crafted by Attitude on Food that included a breakfast charcuterie spread, fresh baked sweets and fun bites like a mini chicken and waffle sandwich. Be sure to include something bubbly for toasting to the big day.

Another touch is to have a gift for each member of the bridal party, especially something they can use again. “Robes and pjs are always fun and make for cute photos,” says Laura Cuong. She also suggests customized makeup bags, jewelry accessories or a personal touch such as a handwritten letter or a photo book with all your favorite memories together. “Whatever you decide, put it in a personalized tote bag or a cute box for an elevated look,” says Laura.

PHOTOGRAPHER LAURA CUONG'S TIPS FOR MAKING THE WEDDING DAY FUN FOR ALL:

1. Bring a Polaroid camera (or ask your photographer if they have one you can rent!) and make a scrapbook of the day.

2. Have a catered breakfast to elevate the feel of a wedding morning.

3. Dance party! Don’t be afraid to take a few minutes for a break from hair and makeup to have fun with your friends.
