FROM THE BRIDE: Growing up in different countries and traveling thousands of miles away from home to meet each other by the will of God, fall in love, and get married made our wedding day so very special! Alex is originally from Russia and I am from Belarus, a small country that borders Russia. Alex and I met five years ago in the middle of nowhere in Davenport, Iowa. I was working in a cookie store at the time and he was my customer who had a love affair with oatmeal raisin cookies. During his second or third cookie hunt, he got the courage to ask me if I spoke Russian (he definitely recognized my accent). That was the beginning of our Russian-Belarusian romance! As it turned out, there was a person we both knew who had told Alex about a Russian girl that worked in a cookie store in the mall, and who told me about a Russian I.T. guy who would be very excited to meet a Russian-speaking girl. I have to mention that Alex ended up visiting several cookie stores before he found the right one.

On September 7th of last year, I married my best friend, soul mate, and love of my life. My pick for our wedding color was coral, which turned out to be a real challenge (for sure hard to find). However, I was extremely happy when my vision came to life through the wedding flowers and centerpieces, my bridesmaids' dresses and room decor. The Thompson Center proved to be a great pick for the outdoor ceremony under the shade of grand trees, with an amazing cocktail hour on the cozy patio, and an elegant reception in the spacious ballroom. Unfortunately, none of my closest relatives who lived outside the country could make it to our wedding. In addition, Alex's mother also couldn't make it due to the recent and sudden death of his grandmother. We dedicated our ceremony to Alex's grandmother Dina, who was with us in spirit on the day of our unity. Thankfully, the technology of Skype provided a great way to connect with our relatives and let them be a part of our big day.

Everything looked picture perfect on this day and was masterfully captured by our talented photographer J.J. with Multi-Images Photography. Every time we look through our wedding pictures, we have a chance to relive the happiest day of our lives over and over again. Our wedding day was a true celebration of love, commitment, and trust!
