We are thrilled to share the wedding of Lauren and Matthew with you, all captured flawlessly by Andrey Mikityuk Photographer. This wedding is the perfect blend of classic and modern, with stunning style and grace. We felt like we were there in every moment and we know you will be pouring over these images all day. The effortless style Lauren carries (and that amazing fur jacket!) and the ear-to-ear grin Matthew shares all day had us beaming behind the screen. What a beautiful and amazing day they had!
From the Bride, "Matthew and I were blessed with a beautiful fall wedding day, which we spent with our family and friends at the Magnolia Hotel in downtown Omaha. Their gorgeous Winter Garden courtyard provided the most ideal setting for our ceremony and our reception was held in the Magnolia Ball Room. The special touches, however, are the things I will always remember most. Matthew gifted himself and each of his groomsmen a pair of white Sperry Topsliders to wear on the big day. I wore a pair as well, only mine were covered in white sequins. Because it was a little chilly, and our wedding was outside, I wore my grandmother, Marguerite's vintage mink that is lined with teal blue silk during the ceremony. We had a table that displayed the wedding day photos of many of our friends and family members. I handmade my flower girl's dress, my guest book, our wedding party favors, and my garter. My something old was my late grandmother, Dot's earrings and a broach of hers that I wore in my hair. My something new was my dress, something borrowed was my cousin's bird cage veil that also gave my look a vintage feel and my something blue was my mother's blue star sapphire ring. Our vendors couldn't have been more perfect or appreciated.
My husband's family is Dutch as are many of his family's friends. Orange City, where my husband and many of our guests are from, is a small Dutch community that holds the tulip festival every summer. Our ice sculpture was a large vase and we filled it with a large arrangement of white tulips to honor our Dutch guests.
Our photographer, Andrey Mikityuk, captured our day in the most beautiful way! Our cake lady, Donna Hultman, our musician Jason Birnstahl, and our florist, Dennis from HyVee, helped to make our day go so smoothly and flawlessly. And finally, Ron, the event coordinator at The Magnolia was so professional, and couldn't be better at his job. Aside from marrying my best friend, I feel it was our wedding vendors and own special touches that made our day as wonderful as it was!"
