Real Wedding: Melissa + Aaron

Nothing says spring quite like a damp day with fresh grass and the sun peeking through the clouds. Melissa and Aaron's wedding day was full of love, laughter, dancing, friends and a favorite past time...baseball. Done with grace and elegance, these images are one for the books. We love how Daniel Dunlap captured their personality on the field while still keeping a beautiful focus on the rest of their wedding day. The details and the view of the wide open field will keep you daydreaming about this stunning wedding all day long.

From the Bride: " Our ceremony was held at St. Bridget’s, a small but gorgeous church in South Omaha where my Dad attended grade school; it was important to us to get married in a place that had special meaning and memories. After the ceremony, we were lucky enough to get into TD Ameritrade Park to take photographs with the bridal party…those pictures turned out to be our personal favorites! Aaron and I met and bonded over baseball, so we knew it had to be a part of our wedding day.

The reception was held at the Old Mattress Factory; it was a beautiful, loft-like space that we filled with a mix of white and yellow flowers and tons of candlelight. I had worked for years at a florist, so I took on the task of arranging all of our wedding flowers, from the boutonnieres and corsages, to the centerpieces and all of the bridal party bouquets. We tried to incorporate as many DIY touches as possible, including a memorial table containing pictures of loved ones that were no longer with us,  table numbers with the name and jersey number of our favorite athletes, and a wedding cake topper of our favorite childhood toys, She-Ra and G.I. Joe! Our guests stayed entertained throughout the evening by visiting the sweets buffet (filled with our favorite candy), taking silly pictures in the homemade photo booth (which Aaron built himself), watching our photo slideshow and dancing the night away to a playlist that was hand-selected by both of us.

June 1, 2012 was a truly magical day! The best part, besides marrying my best friend, was watching both of our families and all of our friends interact, dance and laugh with each other…we were so blessed to be surrounded by so much love!"
