There is a classic charm to this wedding that we absolutly adore. Sara and Kevin's day was certainly full of love and laughter and every wonderful moment was captured by Christopher Tierney Photography. The perfect gown, the gorgeous flowers and the smile that never left Sara's face is a sure sign of an amazing day!
From the bride: Kevin and I developed our relationship through the popular game "Words with Friends" about 3 years ago. During that time we became the closest of friends that enjoyed spending the majority of our time bantering with each other and planning the next time we would get to see each other since we lived in separate states. By the time I moved to Minneapolis to be closer to Kevin, I knew he was the one. Fast forward a few months and Kevin proposed in our home on an unexpected week night - he was too excited to wait for the more "elaborate" plan that included dinner reservations and a holiday limo lights tour later that weekend but we wouldn't have had it any other way. As everyone always says, your wedding day goes by so fast. Kevin and I did the best we could to soak in all of the little moments and cherished time with family and friends on our special day. Our day was perfect because of the time we got to spend together and the people that surrounded us.
We chose to get married October 6th, at The Durham Museum in Omaha. We toured many sites before choosing and fell in love with the beautiful spacious and historical feel that the Durham had. Our ceremony was in the West End of the facility set up with simple white chairs (we did not want to change the feel of the Durham at all so we kept it simple with minimal decor in all rooms). After the ceremony guests went downstairs to the track side where we had a bar set up, high top tables, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Finally, our party moved from the lower level track side to the upper level Swanson Gallery for the main reception of dinner and dancing.
Kevin and I incorporated scrabble letters in a various different places including our table cards and gift box labeling to have some personal touches and reinforce the story of the game that was such a big part in us building our relationship. We had simple white floral arrangements with green leaf accents.
We had a wonderful time at our wedding and enjoyed the day so much - it went by very very fast. Because of how quickly the events seem to pass by, we would recommend that that any future newlyweds invest in a modern day videographer. Wedding Memories of Omaha was absolutely phenomenal to work with and capture the moments that we will be able to reflected on for a lifetime to come. Their attention to detail, personalities and creativity was unlike any other.
